- DesktopWiki is easy to install and use
- Setting up a wiki is easy and painless. Just create a directory and run a script in that directory. Starting up the wiki is as simple as calling another script from the same directory. DesktopWiki uses [[Mono] and .NET along with xsp to achieve this.
- Integrates well with the GNOME desktop

- Wiki storage is handled by the filesystem
- All storage in DesktopWiki is handled by the filesystem. The directory containing the Wiki also contains the web application itself. This means that no database is required, and a backup of the wiki directory is a complate backup of all the wiki data.
